This isn’t a photography related blog, but something I just flat out wanted to share.
My brother was in Iraq for about 6 months when he started to get very ill over there. Last week we had been told that he was only getting worse and he reached a very dangerous point. We were terrified because his life appeared to be on the line.
Fortunately, the doctors over there were able to stabilize him and take him over to Germany for further testing. The next evening he was flown back into the states. We are so happy to have him back and he is doing much better. Come to find out, the cause of his illness was diabetes.
I just wanted to share this because it really made me appreciate my family even more and it made me realize how lost I was without my brother. I love him very much and am extremely thankful that he was able to stay strong and make it through this. I added a few photos to this post as well. Some of which are he and I on his first day back in the U.S and some are from the next day when he was finally able to see his wife and daughter again.
Needless to say this experience was an eye opener, and one I hope I never have to relive again.
